At Hatfields Gunsmithing, the custom 1911 is our specialty. We offer every service from complete builds to custom upgrades for your existing 1911. The owner and master gunsmith of HGI, Sam Hatfield, has built title-winning competition 1911s for the United States Army Marksmanship Unit as well as his civilian clientele. Hatfield's is one of only a handful of custom shops in the entire country that provides an accuracy guarantee of a 1.5" 10 shot group @50 yards on custom bullseye builds. Whether you are ready to build the 1911 of your dreams, or just looking to modify your existing model, we can handle any request you can think of.

Hatfields offers the following custom packages on customer supplied firearms. All firearms must be deemed suitable for customization by HGI gunsmiths.

Hatfields offers the following items a la cart:

* Reliability Package $250
Includes: installation and tuning of new extractor and extended ejector, recoil spring, firing pin spring, internal debur, ramping/throating if necessary, timing of barrel lugs and link, and test fire.

* Cut Novak Style Sight Dovetails (does not include sights)
Front: $75
Rear: $150

* Trigger Job $335

Includes: STI brand sear, STI brand hammer, disconnector, sear spring, hammer spring, oversize pins, titanium hammer strut, refitting of existing safeties if serviceable/fitment of new safeties if required (safeties not included). Test fire included in price. Price reflects only those parts listed.

* "Hatfield Cuts" $80
Low-snag proprietary cuts to maximize control over recoil. These cuts are shown on the 1911 pictured below. Does not include refinish if necessary.

* Lowered & Flared Ejection Port $85

Larger ejection port improves reliability. Does not include refinish if necessary.

* Full External Deburr - $75

Deburring of all sharp edges; appropriate for concealed carry.

*Custom Fit Bushing $100

Installing an oversize bushing will remove play between the bushing & barrel as well as between the bushing & the slide, which greatly improves accuracy. Price does not include cost of bushing.

* Install Beavertail Grip Safety $150

Includes modification of frame and safety for seamless fit and fitment of safety to trigger system. Customer choice of Ed Brown or Smith & Alexander grip safeties. Does not include cost of safety or necessary refinish. Trigger components must pass gunsmith check.

* Install Thumb Safety $35+
Includes fitting of safety to trigger components. Does not include cost of thumb safety. Trigger components must pass gunsmith check.

* Fit Match Grade Barrel $225+

Includes fitment of barrel to bushing, slide & frame; ramping; throating; and headspacing. Does not include price of barrel.

The 1911 is not a modular system. Components must be fitted to perform correctly. Changing a single component may mean a refitting of all components that relate to the component changed.
